How It Works
From pasture to freezer – a simple process for exceptional lamb
Buying a whole lamb directly from our farm is straightforward. We handle the raising, you choose the cuts, and our partner butcher does the rest.
Step 1: Reserve Your Lamb
Secure your lamb with a $150 deposit. This reserves one whole lamb from our current or upcoming flock.
What you need to do:
- Place your order on our website
- Pay the $150 deposit
- We’ll confirm your reservation and estimated timeline
Step 2: Your Lamb Grows
While you wait, your lamb is living its best life on our pastures – grazing on fresh grass daily, rotated to new pasture regularly, growing at a natural pace.
Lambs typically reach ideal processing weight (40-55 lbs hanging weight) at 6-8 months of age. We’ll keep you updated on progress.
Step 3: Choose Your Cuts
About 1-2 weeks before processing, we’ll connect you with our partner butcher to discuss your cut preferences.
You’ll decide:
- Chop thickness and quantity
- Roast sizes
- How much ground lamb
- Any specialty cuts (shanks, ribs, etc.)
- Packaging preferences
Don’t know what to ask for? No problem. The butcher can recommend a standard cut list that works well for most families.
Step 4: Processing
Your lamb goes to our USDA-inspected partner facility for professional butchering, vacuum-sealed packaging, and labeling.
Processing time: Typically 1-2 weeks
Processing cost: Approximately $125-150 (paid directly to butcher)
Step 5: Pick Up Your Lamb
Once processing is complete:
- Get notified – We’ll let you know your lamb is ready
- Pay the balance – Final cost based on hanging weight minus your deposit
- Pick up – Collect your lamb from [PICKUP_LOCATION]
- Enjoy – Stock your freezer with delicious, grass-fed lamb
